Your team is crying out to be seen, heard and their impact felt, but you can’t make that happen unless you understand yourself.  Today we introduce DISC Performance styles.

Show Notes:

Leaders must understand who they are before they can truly understand others.

DISC provides you with the understanding of your performance style – your behavioral tendencies.

DISC started centuries ago, but has been refined into the four categories that we use today in the business realm.

The four scales are:

  • Dominance – Compelled, Driven, Focused, Determined, Confident
  • Influence – Charismatic, Outgoing, Engaging, Inspiring, Enthusiastic
  • Steadiness – Stable, Team Glue, Patient, Service Oriented, Loyal
  • Conscientious – Detailed, Planner, Deliberate, Analytical, Careful

Everyone is a mixture of all four scales, but has tendencies that lean toward just one or two.

Understanding your natural style, you can understand the types of strengths you have to reflect against the strengths that others have.

Best Bosses leverage the strengths of those around them to accomplish more than they could with just their own.
